We are pleased to share a project that is very special to us: a photography book we have had the opportunity to collaborate on for its edition. “BALI: Island of Gods” by Stéphane Sensey is not a conventional travel book. It is a quiet and visual narrative that shows a more personal side of the island.
The book captures Bali as it is lived every day through a refined and sensitive lens. Moments happen naturally, like a gesture during a ceremony, a quick look or the rhythm of everyday life. Landscapes, portraits and scenes of local traditions all come together to tell a story that feels real and deeply human. There is no staging, no excess; you just need to look carefully at what already exists.
What makes this work particularly interesting is its balance. The images smoothly switch between the wide-open of Bali’s natural environment and the intimacy of its people.
The book gives a layered view of the island, showing it from the point of view of children, adults, and even the elderly. It shows both quiet interiors and open landscapes. It invites the viewer to slow down and look beyond the surface to find details that are often missed.
The object itself was made with the same attention to detail. The layout, the pacing of the images, and the overall look all add to the tactile and immersive experience. This book is meant to be seen and felt.
This publication fits with the values we share: a respect for craftsmanship, authenticity, and meaningful storytelling. It is a piece that will naturally fit in with places where design and culture meet.
