From Concept to Completion

Every project starts with a clear understanding of the design, requirements and expectations. From the initial concept to final installation, Tabú Design manages each stage of the process, from end-to-end, combining design expertise, manufacturing capabilities and project experience.

Project Consultation

We start by understanding the project, its vision and requirements. Together with the project team, we define the right materials and furniture solutions for each space.

Design & Development

Designs are developed into detailed and production-ready solutions. Dimensions, materials, finishes and technical requirements are refined and agreed before production starts.

Production & Quality Control

Once approved, each piece is carefully manufactured, finished and inspected in-house. Quality control ensures that every item meets the agreed specifications before delivery.

Delivery & Installation

We coordinate delivery and installation through to project completion, ensuring that the furniture is correctly installed and that the finished result reflects the approved design.

How we work

What type of projects has Tabú Design worked on?

Tabú Design works across a diverse range of residential and hospitality projects, from luxury villas, high-end residences and apartments to premium hotels, resorts, and restaurants.

We have developed furniture for projects worldwide, featuring Bali, the Maldives, Spain, Singapore, and New Zealand, with manufacturing and delivery capabilities supporting projects anywhere.

Creating bespoke and original furniture for indoor and outdoor spaces, guest rooms, restaurants, lounges and lobbies.

Can Tabú Design support custom furniture requirements for a project?

Yes, absolutely. Tabú Design supports bespoke furniture requirements for hospitality and residential projects. We collaborate with developers, architects, and interior designers to develop furniture based on project-specific dimensions, materials, finishes, and design concepts.

Our process covers concept development, technical drawings, 3D visualization, prototyping, manufacturing, quality control, and installation, allowing us to deliver both loose and built-in furniture for hotels, resorts, restaurants, and any luxury villa.

How does Tabú Design ensure quality and consistency across large-scale projects?

Tabú Design ensures quality and consistency across large scale projects through controlled production at our factory in Solo, Indonesia, working with skilled craftsmen and managing every stage of the manufacturing.

We carefully select and manage sustainable materials, from locally and legally sourced teak and Java oak wood to leather, stone, metal as well as indoor and outdoor fibres and fabrics. Our in-house manufacturing facilities allow us to maintain consistent quality, character, and performance across large furniture orders.

By combining traditional Indonesian craftsmanship with structured production and quality control, we deliver furniture at scale while maintaining the design details, material standards, and finish consistency required for residential and hospitality projects.

Does Tabú Design work directly with architects and interior designers?

We see architects and interior designers as creative partners throughout the process. From an initial sketch or furniture concept to material selection, detailing, prototyping, and final production, our team collaborates closely with project teams to turn design intent into furniture solutions, delivered at scale and on time.

This collaborative approach allows us to preserve the character of the original concept while meeting the practical requirements of residential and hospitality projects.

What materials and finishes can be specified?

We offer flexibility in selecting materials and finishes to suit your furniture design and project requirements.

From Indonesian teak and Java oak wood to woven materials, fabrics, leather, stone, and metal, our team can help you select and combine finishes that complement your overall design vision.

Don’t hesitate to share with us what’s on your mind.

What information does Tabú Design need to start a project?

To get started, Tabú Design needs to understand your vision, through the project brief, furniture requirements, drawings or references, dimensions, quantities, preferred materials and finishes, as well as an estimated timeline.

You can share as much or as little as you have from the beginning. Whether it’s a detailed specification, a moodboard, or simply an initial idea.

From there, our team can help develop the furniture solutions that suit you the best and guide you through customization, sampling, production, and delivery.
