Materials
We keep it simple: we only work with materials that are readily available, local and efficient. This supports our local ecosystem and allows us to excel with a broad range of options. It also reinforces our commitment to support our local suppliers, whether they are fully certified modern industries or local skilled craftsmen and craftswomen.
When certain materials are not available locally, we liaise with our overseas suppliers. Here too, we build long-term relationships that result in greater reliability and mutual understanding.
Fibres & Fabrics
We work with fibres and fabrics that go beyond upholstery. We carefully select each textile to meet our requirements for quality, durability and craftsmanship, always according to the wear resistance requested for hospitality standards.
Natural fibres
Natural fibres, such as hand-woven rattan, are sourced locally from Java and are FSC certified. Rattan is prized for its flexibility, strength, organic texture and light weight, all of which enable us to create an infinite number of patterns and designs. The traditional art of hand-weaving rattan is incorporated into some of our collections.
Synthetic fibres and cords
Synthetic fibres and cords are excellent for outdoor furniture. They offer weatherproof durability and long-lasting beauty while simulating a natural feel.
Paper-loom cords
Paper-loom cords are great recycled product, made from paper waste and treated for water resistance. This material feels light to the touch and will last for many years with proper care.
Fabrics
Fabric is just as important as the frame when it comes to chairs, loungers or sofas. We select upholstery textiles based on their durability (50.000 rubs according to Martindale test), weave integrity, UV resistance and tactile qualities to make sure each piece maintains its finish and shape over time and can withstand intensive use.
